Domino

For lightweight joinery, small cabinet making and fitted furniture, the Festool Domino DF 500 is a perfect solution. It is very simple to setup, needing no lengthy configurations. In many ways it can be compared to a biscuit jointer, but it is so much more than that. The Domino mills true mortices that solid tenons (known as Dominos) can be inserted. This makes the joint much stronger and usable in many more situations. The biggest advantage of using a Domino is the massive amount of time saved. You won't quite believe how it will speed up production.

When it comes to larger joinery, such as for beds or chairs, Festool have recently developed the new Domino XL. This new machine is bigger than the DF 500 and is able to mill deeper and wider mortices. The new DF 700 also lends itself to construction joinery, such as framing, balusters, railing, etc. Being able to bring the tool to the work makes a lot of sense when working with these heavier tasks.
