Intelligent Workshop is a woodworking and power tool retailer based in Staplehurst, Kent and is owned by Tom Sustins. Tom has a passion for tools that are made to a high standard that will last. He also believes in embracing modern technologies and incorporating them into the woodworking world.

Here at Intelligent Workshop, we only stock workshop tools that we would use ourselves. Our current Festool line up are the ultimate range of quality power tools. The woodworking hand tools that we stock are among the finest available.  It is our goal to inform and educate our customers on all aspects of the products we sell. We believe that a retailer should have first hand knowledge of the products they are selling.

Our policy is to maintain strong links with our customers by providing the highest quality of service we can. Should you have any queries or concerns over your order, contact us as soon as you can. We welcome feedback from our customers and use this information to continually improve the friendly and cooperative service we provide.

Intelligent Workshop is predominantly an Internet based retail business, though we do have a Tool Centre in Kent where customers are welcome to come along and experience the products. Please call or email to arrange a convenient time to visit.

We are always happy to have you come in and actually try the tools for yourself.  Not just handle them in their packaging, actually take them to the wood and use them!  Just give us call or email and let us know when you would like to come. The workshop will be set up for you to try the tools in the way you want to use them. We firmly believe in trying before you buy. If you interested in something particular then let us know and we can either put it aside or have it ordered in for you to try.

We are located very close to Staplehurst rail station in the Kent countryside. Please do get in touch before making a journey as we may not always be available to assist you.

UK Woodworking Forum

Tom also owns and operates a small but friendly UK based woodworking forum called The Wood Haven.  Here members discuss their current projects and get advice when stuck on certain aspects.  The ethos of the forum is friendly and fun.  We are not interested in elitist woodworking or making fun of any individual's approach to woodworking.  You can be sure to get a sensible, informative answer.  Though we do not promise to all agree on the 'right' solution ;).  Come and join us, you are always welcome.
